The stacker should only be operated by qualified personnel who have the appropriate certification. If you don’t have the certification, you are not allowed to operate the stacker.
There are also a few general safety rules for operating a stacker, such as:
Never lift the load with one fork.
Place the load against the forkboard or as close to the forkboard as possible.
The load should be placed on the forks in such a way that the center of gravity is centered along the middle of the forks.
Never exceed the load limits indicated on the load indicator plates.
Do not turn or stack on inclines.
Always wear safety clothing.
A company vehicle requires its own certification to be operated. A separate certificate is required for a stacker. A stacker is a powerful vehicle for transporting heavy loads, so it’s very important to know how to handle it safely. You might think that with a forklift certification, you can operate a stacker, but that is not the case. While you drive a forklift, you walk behind a stacker.
